As a System Engineer, you will take care of the technical follow-up and system activities during the different development phases of the project and/or product. These activities take place during the full product life cycle, from pre-project to delivery to customers.
You are responsible for planning, analyzing, organizing and integrating multiple system capabilities into existing and/or new systems that enhance the design.
For this, you work closely with the different R&D project teams from Belgium and Toulon, as well as with the internal departments production, industrialization and purchasing and with external parties (customers).
You report to the Teamleader of the 'System and Electronic' department.
Below is an overview of your tasks:
Classify and translate customer requirements into technical requirements.
Translating the architecture into functional work blocks: - write technical specification documents for equipment or systems, test instructions,...- identify solutions and draft product (production) improvement proposals.- study the reuse of existing or improved designs or procedures to integrate them into the new systems. - oversee product design, implementation, testing and documentation, including certification as needed. - Liaise with System Architect, Design Authority, customers, Industrialization and with relevant suppliers.
Act as escalation point.
Perform testing at sea (if relevant)
Consult with other departments regarding optimizations, trends and developments within the discipline
Document and roll out best-practices within the team
Do you have a Master's degree in computer science/engineering or can you demonstrate experience at that level?
Could you have been developing yourself as a System Engineer for about 5 years?
Are you accurate, analytical, pragmatic, creative and willing to take on challenges?
Do you feel eager and curious about new technologies and development methods?
Do you like to think out-of-the-box and find solutions?
Can you express yourself in Dutch and/or French and in English?
Are you willing to work partly in Ostend and partly in Mouscron?
