Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for developing and optimizing robust data pipelines to ensure a seamless data flow, both between our applications and towards external interfaces.
Your role includes setting up, optimizing and maintaining both relational and NoSQL databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability, as well as designing storage solutions and scalable data infrastructure.
You create tailored logical/data models and implement effective indexing strategies. You also work on integrating MLOps workflows and AI applications. You are fully integrated in the development teams, working with an agile methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
· Data Pipeline Engineering: you design and manage APIs, queries, and access points to enable efficient synchronization and scalability while maintaining secure data exchange. You also apply MLOps practices for AI-based tools we develop internally.
· Database Management: you optimize and maintain both relational and non-relational databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
· Storage Solutions: you become the referent for data management. You select and implement dedicated frameworks handling the storage and indexation of large amounts of data. You make sure it integrates with our current applications. Together with devOps, you make sure our solution is useable, deployable and maintainable for our clients.
· Data Modelling: you develop key insights in the maritime domain, the mission frameworks in use and the types of data (sensor data, mission data, synthetic data) that are relevant. You aplly this knowledge by designing and maintaining expert data models.
· Software Integration: you accompany our software teams for the integration of the data architecture withing our existing application, written mainly in C# and .NET.
· Technical Coordination: you exchange with different stakeholders, both internally but also externally in the context of collaborative projects.

Your profile
You have a master’s degree in computer science/engineering and you have equivalent working experience.
You are passionate and curious about new technologies and development methods.
You like to think in terms of solutions, and you come with an out-of-the box approach.
You speak English and Dutch/French.
You value team effort, are a team player but can also work independently.
Employment is based in Mouscron or Ostend.
